What is the holobiont?

<< A holobiont is neither a hologram (a 3D image) nor a holothurian (a sea cucumber)! Derived from the Greek holos ("whole") and bios ("life"), the term "holobiont" refers to a natural living entity composed of a multicellular host—such as you, me, an animal, or a plant—and its microbiome, meaning the community of microorganisms closely associated with it (bacteria, viruses, archaea, protists, and microscopic fungi). In short, it’s a host and all its microbes, like the ones in your gut! >>

Holobiont : a unique term to express "All the life"

Biom InnoV is a pioneer in its conviction and ability, alongside its academic partners, to harness the benefits of plants' natural microbiomes (particularly at the vegetative level). While this is not the only performance lever, it optimizes protection levels by respecting the microorganisms associated with the plant (and their natural balance). Much like the human microbiome, the plant microbiome has long been underestimated in its importance for the various functions essential to plant life.
